The Robot Art Show project was not a group effort this time, instead we worked in partners. Using a program called Aurduino, Lucy and I had a couple weeks to finish sketches and write down our notes on how and why the sketches worked. This was a very long and frustrating project. Our final product did not have many specific guidelines, but we had to make our own code and involve one aspect of a sketch we worked on in our project. Lucy and I made a Christmas themed project on our breadboard using red and green lights with a sign that said "Happy Holidays!" and we programmed it to play jingle bells. I believe this project has been the most challenging one throughout all of freshman year. Throughout this project my partner, Lucy, and I had to be very dialed in to finish all of our notes, coding, and finished product. There were many struggles throughout this project because the technology used was brand new to Lucy and I. I believe this product benefitted me in many ways and I got to learn lots of new things.
Evidence of Work
Physics Concepts:
Loop- The loop function is the body of a loop that is running in a master program. Ohm's law- The law that for any circuit the electric current is directly proportional to the voltage and is inversely proportional to the Resistance , V= IR. Current Law- The sum of the currents going into a connection must equal the sum of the currents leaving the connection. Voltage- the potential energy drop across a component of a circuit. Breadboard- A board for making an experimental model of an electric circuit. Coding- The process of assigning a code to something for the purposes of classification or identification.
Reflection:
Overall, this project has been the hardest STEM project this whole year in my eyes. I believe that Lucy and I managed our time very well and were even ahead of most people at times. I believe something that went poorly is that near the end, our breadboard was not able to use the last two input rows. Although we had no control over this, it definitely made tasks harder. I learned that I am a great leader throughout this project and I learned how to stay focused and set goals each day. I could have improved on having a positive attitude more during the Arduino sketches because I became very frustrated at times. I also think I could have improved my empathy skills towards the other groups.
